So Hurricane Matthew ended up completely passing Miami with no major issues. I am grateful we were spared from any destruction but sad that so many others can not say the same. Hurricane paranoia has won again and I’ve probably gained at least three pounds eating all my hurricane snacks while I binge watched Netflix. Enough about Hurricane Matthew and snacking. Let’s talk about this cute high waist skirt and crop top I bought at Forever 21 a few months ago.
When I first tried this skirt on I hated it. I envisioned it being a dupe of this skirt that I had been lusting after, also seen here. It’s a cute skirt, I just wasn’t in love with it at first. So it ended up being tucked away in my closet until I pulled it out and decided I would wear it to brunch. Sometimes a fresh set of eyes is a good thing after you’ve tucked away a clothing item for awhile.
Change of Heart
After pulling out this skirt again and styling it with this cute crop top I had a change of heart. I think my high ponytail and cute pom-poms finished off this outfit nicely. While I still prefer the more expensive skirt this is cute substitution for a fraction of the price. I am not beyond buying dupes but in this case I probably could have stalked the original item and caught it on sale. It’s super easy to find quality shoe and purse dupes. Clothing dupes are a little harder and sometimes not even worth the trouble.
Have you ever purchased a dupe clothing item and been disappointed? Was the quality poor? Was the fit off? Let me know in the comments below!

Still super cute!
I don’t know why but I prefer the dupe! Looks very nice.
I prefer the dupe to the original. You make it look great.
