Taps mic…” is this thing on?”.  I swear I am really getting tired of my own unexplained absences from my blog. The last time we spoke I was preparing for my wedding. If you follow me on Instagram then you know I officially became Mrs. Evans almost a year ago on September 28, 2019. The End.

, cute outfit to wear grocery shopping during covid 19 No, but seriously, I had so many plans for amazing content I wanted to share with you guys after my wedding. Instead, I went into an unplanned hibernation after returning from my honeymoon. I needed time to recover from moving and all things wedding related. What was suppose to be a few weeks has turned into several months and now almost a year.

Wait, What Just Happened?

black girl in wholefoods during covid 19So much happened in such a short amount of time I don’t think I had enough time to process everything. Besides the wedding updates, I shared with you guys here and here. I was also working on finding a new job, selling my house, and preparing to move in with my fiance. Lastly, I was trying to maintain a presence as a blogger (my happy place).

Before I knew it I was a married woman; discussing what type of blender would be best for morning smoothies with my husband. The pinnacle of adulting, lol.

Best Laid Plans

what to wear to the grocery store during covid 19The beginning of 2020 seemed like the perfect time to re-emerge and knock out some of the goals I had put on hold while trying to get my life together. However, the New Year came and went and I still hadn’t got my creative mojo back. I set a goal of returning in the second quarter of 2020. No excuses…then COVID-19 happened and here I am again explaining why I ghosted y’all, again.

I had plenty that I wanted to share with you but it didn’t seem right with everything else that was going on. I didn’t wanna be that person that was sharing another banana bread recipe (even though I think the one I use is the bomb) or act like everything was normal when I was scared AF when this all started. Especially since I did not and still don’t have the option of working from home. I was really anxious about having to be around people and I was struggling as an introvert.

What’s Ahead

grocery shopping during covid 19While I was in hibernation (and being home with the exception of work due to COVID-19) I thought a lot about where I wanted to take the Curves and Confidence brand. I even seriously contemplated if I wanted to continue being a blogger. I ultimately decided to continue because blogging allows me to be creative, learn new things, meet new people, and continue to conquer my social anxiety. It’s my creative outlet, the one thing I have total control over.

Life happens and I can’t promise that I won’t drop out of sight again. I’m just glad you guys think enough of me to reach out and see how I am doing when I get missing. Thank you for continuing to rock with me.

What’s New?

What have you guys been doing since I’ve been gone? How have you been dealing with COVID-19? Are you trying out banana bread recipes, have you become a plant mom, or have you just been trying to maintain and make do? Or have you been making several grocery store runs just to get out of the house and getting cute in the process?

  1. Hey Shea! Welcome back! Missed you! Hope you’re well and l see you’re staying safe😊

    • Hey Shea,
Really great to have you back! You were really missed. Don’t worry about the absence, I think everyone was just so busy trying to get through this year. I also think it’s really important to take time out for yourself especially for creatives. I feel like we put so much energy and feelings into everything we do, it can get really exhausting sometimes and that is why long breaks are needed sometimes.
I don’t know about others but I didn’t work much since Corona started, but I did manage to try about a gazillion recipes I never got around to before, some of which turned out hilariously didastereos. I also lost 10kgs somehow.
      Hope your year was great!
