| Blazer – H&M | Skirt – Target | Pumps – Guess | Purse – Zara | Last week I participated in the #HERmovment twitter chat on Workplace Fashion Do’s and Don’ts.  One of the first questions presented was: “How can you subtly incorporate trends into your workplace attire?  My response was: “I usually make sure the trend works with a classic piece”. Not every trend will work at the office but there are several that will.  For example, I know you guys have seen those amazing monochromatic pencil skirt outfits floating around IG and Pinterest, examples here and here.  Of course you can’t stroll into the office wearing a crop top and skin tight ankle length pencil skirt.  You can however put on an appropriate skirt and matching blazer to create your own monochromatic look that is perfect for the office. | Dress – Zara | Shoes – Joe’s Jeans | Purse – The Limited | When Zara had their end of year sale I went a little crazy.  I usually only shop at Zara UNTIL they have their semi-annual and annual sales. I was so happy with my order that I placed a second order!  I love Zara’s clothes I just hate paying full price for them. Of course this dress was an absolute must for me because of the silhouette, the color and the length.  I also wanted it because it’s the perfect “throw on” dress for work.  Y’all know those “throw on” dresses save the day when you are running late or just don’t feel like putting together an entire outfit. My closet is full of “throw on” dresses and I always get the most compliments when I wear them.  My response is always the same “Thank you!…

| Dress – Gap | Belt – Gap | Sandals – Sam Edelman | Purse – Hayden Harnett | | Necklace – F21 | Can you believe that my entire outfit is under $60 minus my purse.  Dress: $12, Belt: $1.50, Shoes: $35.  Both the dress and belt were sale items at the Gap with an additional 60% and my shoes were purchased from Amazon with I randomly stumbled upon them. I didn’t think much of this dress when I tried it on at the Gap.  It took me getting the dress home and styling it to see its full potential.  I love simple outfits like this that only require a few pieces to give them a little extra something.  It’s sold out on Gap.com but several dresses are available on eBay.
