When Life Happens
I promise I didn’t mean to abandon you guys but I started a new job and well…life happened. My new position is very demanding and it took a few months for me to acclimate myself. I am finally starting to feel settled in and ready to start sharing new amazing content with you guys again!
Happy Birthday!
I just celebrated my 37th birthday and it was one of the best birthdays I’ve had in awhile. Last year my birthday was s***, excuse my language but it was. So when Kerrisa suggested I have a brunch this year, brunch just happens to be one of my absolute favorite things, I was all in. I love birthdays and celebrating others on their born day. However, I haven’t ever taken the time to plan a celebration for myself outside of just having dinner with a few friends. This year I went all in and made sure my 37th birthday would be amazing.
Sorry Your Reservation Has Been Canceled
I never do much of anything without having a plan. So, of course, I had all the details of my birthday weekend mapped out and then Hurricane Irma happened. Hurricane’s suck and this one almost derailed my birthday weekend. Thank goodness Miami is resilient and the city recovered fairly quickly after the storm. Unfortunately, the restaurant that I originally planned on having my brunch at canceled my reservation five days before my celebration.
I was ready to just forget the whole thing and sit at home and sulk. However, I realized that it didn’t matter where I had the brunch. Spending time with my friends and family was more important. The replacement location was nice but it didn’t come close to the original restaurant but I digress, lol.
Diva Antics
Birthday’s are a big deal to me, like a REALLY big deal. My family knows this, my friends know this and they completely obliged with my diva antics for the weekend. I was Queen for the day and no one was allowed to tell me any different. Actually, I was Queen for the entire weekend, lol.
This year I decided to forgo spending money on a dress I’d only wear once. Instead, I used Rent The Runway for the first time and I loved it. I had my makeup done by Natasha Gross and her work was amazing! I could not stop looking at myself when she was done. Listen, I don’t know how y’all wear lashes. I couldn’t wait to snatch them off at the end of the night, lol. Maybe next time I’ll forgo them all together or go with a less dramatic style.
Saying Goodbye is Hard
Nothing makes me sadder than having to part ways with my family. My little sister, favorite cousin, and BFF all flew in to spend a few days with me. My BFF and I have been inseparable since 1998. My cousin has always been more like an older sister to me, a bossy older sister (she’s gonna read this and text me, lol). My little sister and I building are building a relationship after being apart for several years. It was so awesome being with a few of my favorite people and having them all enjoy each other’s company.
Chapter 37 has begun and so far it’s off to an amazing start. Now if I can just get back to this blogging thing that I love so much I’d really be on point!

Congratulations on the new job. Happy that you’re back. Welcome to Chapter 37 where anything and everything can/will happen. How you deal with it is up to you. I’m on Chapter 46 I have a feeling you’ll do just fine Queen.
Yes ma’am, I’ve missed you so much. My wardrobe was based off most everything you wore. I feel like I can’t put a complete outfit together w/o your assistance. Lol. No really, happy belated birthday and congrats on the new job.
