Has anyone else noticed we’ve jumped from Halloween right into Christmas? Sparkling lights and holiday decor have seemed to pop-up overnight. The smell of cinnamon is everywhere and holiday greetings have already started to roll-in.
I honestly love this time of year, mostly because I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. Holiday get-togethers with my family are epic. There is always too much food, lots of laughs, plenty of stories to catch up on and that one uncle that embarrasses everyone. I also love to spend Christmas morning with my nieces. Let’s be honest Christmas is really about the kids.
I am an auntie to three little munchkins and I really enjoy selecting thoughtful gifts for each of them. Finding the best gifts at the lowest prices has become a tradition I look forward to every year.
My approach to holiday shopping does not involve your typical trip to the mall. I prefer to bypass the search for parking, long checkout lines and dealing with crowds. Don’t get me wrong I love the mall and can easily shop from open to close. Nothing beats that rush of finding the perfect gift. However, I prefer to shop from the comfort of my laptop at home or at my favorite coffee spot. Purchasing my gifts online allow me to take a break from being overdressed and keep it cute and casual.
This weekend I spent a few hours online getting a jump on my Christmas shopping, which is actually early for me. I want to make sure I have all my gifts purchased, wrapped and mailed so they can take their place under my mom’s Christmas tree in NYC. This will be my first Christmas with my nieces in Brooklyn and I want to make sure they have an amazing trip.
Y’all know my weekends are reserved for cute and casual outfits. This weekend was no different. The temperatures have finally broke and it feels like fall in Miami. I was happy to pull out my favorite DIY sweatshirt and these super comfortable skinnies. I honestly have been avoiding skinny jeans lately because of my weight gain but these Riders® by Lee® Bounce Back Denim skinnies had me feeling pretty good! The stretch is amazing, they stay in place and they fit my waist aka no gapping. If you’re looking for a great pair of affordable jeans, these are under $20, you should definitely gift yourself a few pairs. You can check them out at your local Walmart or Kmart.
I knocked out most of my gift purchases this weekend but the fun part doesn’t happen until it’s time to wrap everything. I am a perfectionist when it comes to gift wrapping. My brother always teases me about how meticulous I am when I wrap my presents. I really go all out and buy heavy weight wrapping paper, bows, ribbon, tissue paper, and you might even find some confetti inside of a gift bag.
I’ve actually had friends and family carefully open their gifts so I can re-wrap the boxes afterward so they can preserve them. Seems like a bit much but I always oblige and appreciate that my effort is noticed.

I enjoy making others happy whenever possible. It doesn’t matter if I receive any gifts at all. I’m always happy just to be in the presence of my family. Have y’all started holiday shopping? What’s on your Christmas list this year? I think I want Santa to bring me a new smartphone, camera, and tablet. Hopefully, Santa reads this post!
Don’t forget to check out Rider® by Lee® Bounce Back Denim on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest. You definitely won’t be disappointed with the fit and quality of these jeans.
