Off the shoulder dresses are this summer’s hottest trend. Trends are awesome but only it if makes sense for your lifestyle. I’m loving all the different variations of off the shoulder dresses and tops but I wasn’t so sure the trend would work for me. However, when I saw this H&M off-the-shoulder dress I knew I needed it. I was sold on the cross-over detail on the back of the dress but I knew it would look much better worn in the front. To play up the subtle v neckline I added this African inspired beaded necklace from Forever 21. Lastly, I threw on my new lace-up gladiator sandals. If you have thicker calves like me gladiator sandals that lace-up in the front are the perfect option. You can grab this pair from Amazon for less than $30.
So what do you do after you’ve put together the perfect outfit for your weekend trip to Brooklyn? You take outfit pictures of course! Brooklyn is my birthplace but I haven’t been home much since I started blogging. However, I was not leaving NYC this time without having outfit pictures taken. My excitement about heading down to the newly remodeled Brooklyn Bridge Park was almost uncontrollable. I even had my mom join me to which she claimed “I’ve created a monster” after I was done, lol Besides her giving “direction” she was a great assistant making sure I had cold water.
Have you tried to off-the-shoulder trend?
P.S. If you want to see the dress worn properly check out Style Pantry’s outfit post here.
