I know the majority of you are still wearing layers and bundled up. Hopeful my warm and sunny outfit pictures will be a prelude for spring and summer outfit inspiration.
All of the items I am wearing are under fifty dollars, as the title states beautifully basic. I stand by the fact that you do not have to spend a lot of money to look good. I am wearing a basic black high waist pencil skirt which I purchased on sale for less than twenty-five dollars. I had the waist taken for an additional ten dollars. My peplum was fifteen dollars and was taken in for an additional seven dollars.
My shoes were thirty-nine dollars and my purse was a gift. Don’t get me wrong I love nice things and not everything I own is less than fifty dollars.
However, I know sometimes readers get defeated by publications that only showcase “affordable” fashion/clothing with prices starting at a hundred plus dollar. This is why I love fashion blogs, we are innovative and like to spend less and get more!
P.S. Tailoring is an extra expense but it can take an outfit from basic to beautiful. Well fitting clothing is a confident booster.

Cute look! Oh, how I wish I was in Sunny Florida right now…we are having a heck of a Winter here in NJ/PA. I'll live vicariously through you and your pics 🙂
Very simple yet turning heads. I'm glad you mentioned tailoring your clothes because I think us women think that if something doesn't fit perfectly right off the rack then our bodies is the problem. No we have to make the clothes work for our bodies not the other way around.
Beautiful (as per usual)! I am so incredibly jealous of your weather… sighhhhhh.
Very pretty ensemble 🙂
Very nice look twin!!
Thank you Angela!
I am originally from NYC so I know how terrible you guys have it right now. I don't miss it at all, lol.
I use to get so discouraged when clothes didn't fit. Now I just bit the bullet and make it work. A little altering makes a huge difference and makes me feel so much more confident.
Hey Rita!!! Thank you, I am sending some sunshine your way.
Thank you Tammie!
Thank you!
