Kindly Excuse My Absence

This has been a long time coming. I feel like I owe you guys an explanation for my very sporadic presence on my blog and social media.  Remember when I shared that I had started a new job? Well for that past 18 months that new job has been kicking my butt.  I was stressed, anxious, and overworked. On most days I was feeling defeated and didn’t have the mental capacity for anything else after I got off.  In addition, I didn’t have access to my usual photographer, he takes amazing photos like this. I tried out a few photographers and I wasn’t 100% happy with the results. With the exception of Winter who took these amazing photos of me last year, during my branding session. Regardless of my struggles I still had the desire to create new content and share my experiences. I wasn’t ready to throw in the towel just yet.

My Resurgence

Recently, I was transferred to a new district at work. Initially, I was upset. I felt like I was being punished and singled out. Not understanding that this was probably the reprieve that I needed to get myself together mentally and emotionally. It’s been three months since my transfer and I feel like my old self again. I’m motivated and my creativity is returning. Which I took full advantage of by strategically planning and creating new content.  It feels good to do what I love, I’ve missed it so much.

What’s Ahead

One of my major issues has been finding a great photographer to work with. I was allowing that to be a hindrance for me.  Not anymore, I stopped making excuses and purchased a new camera and all the accessories I would need to take my own photographs. No excuses.

Since my transfer my work wardrobe has changed slightly, I have the option to be more casual.  If you guys know me, you know I don’t do casual. I love my pencil skirts and four-inch heels. Well, that’s no longer practical. All those four-inch heels have given way to sensible block heels and cute flats. I’ve exchanged my pencil skirts for cute dress pants and jeans. No worries, I still slay it at work.  I can’t wait to show you guys how to kill it and be comfy at the same time.

If you follow me on social media then you know I’ve finally unleashed my curls.  However, don’t expect me to transform into a hair guru. I keep it simple, my hair routine only requires three products.

Lastly, the one thing that I am most excited about it sharing more of my life and experiences on my blog. In the past, I’ve felt like I’ve held back because I was concerned with being judged. Not knowing that many of the issues I’ve gone through are also occurring to others. The sharing of my experiences will not only be therapy for me but also may be helpful for others.

Did You Miss Me?

There it is, the reason for my absence and what you can expect from Curves and Confidence in the future.  Did you guys miss me? Do you have any content suggestions? If, so leave me a comment or shot me an email.

P.S. I finally started wearing makeup ? .  I did my own makeup for this photoshoot with Winter. Not to bad for a novice.
