| Dress – French Connection | Sandals – Ralph Lauren | Tote – Just Fab | Necklace – JCP |

Whew! I had an eventful three day weekend. My good girlfriend and blogging friend Kerrisa was down so we could attend the Style Bloggers of Color Conference Friday and Saturday.  I had so much fun spending time with her and several other bloggers that were in attendance, but more about that later on this week.

I wore this dress for day one of the conference; which I purchased during my birthday haul last month.  As soon as I saw this dress I knew I wanted it and with the Bloomingdales Outlet having a 50% off all clearance items that made the deal even sweeter.  French Connection sizing isn’t generous but this dress fits me perfectly and it’s a size 6.  Ladies don’t let sizes scare you off; you can always size down with a-line dresses and get a great fit.

When purchasing a fitted dress, always fit the dress to the largest part of your body.  For me that’s my hips and in most cases I always have the waist and bust area taken in.  If you’re fuller on top fit your dresses to your bust area and have the waist and hips taken in.   Sometimes getting that perfect fit takes a little extra work but it pays off when you rock that outfit and feel amazing!
