Happy New Year!!!! I took a longer than expected break…I was just suppose to chill until my vacation was over which I did.  One the last day of my vacation I got sick! After I was just bragging to my BFF I haven’t been sick in quite some time.  Like my blogger bud Gorgeous Puddin said “you can’t brag about nothing!”  So instead of going back to work I was laid up on my couch drink chai tea and Theraflu last week.  Thank God for a speedy recovery but now it seems like everyone else is getting sick.

I hope everyone had a great holiday season and is looking forward to a prosperous new year.  I have so much going on this year and so many things I want to do.  Number one on my list is my graduation, which is April 28th. I plan on throwing myself a fantastic party to celebrate.  Like I said in my last post I had so many obstacles in my way but this was meant to be.  Having my marriage fail and going through a horrible divorce might have slowed me down a bit BUT I never gave up. I lost a lot of things when I got divorced but my determination wasn’t one of them.  I am very proud of myself for never giving up on me.  If you can’t cheer yourself on then don’t look for others to do it either.

Number two, shop my closet more.  I did my end of the year closet clean out and donated everything to goodwill.  It was ridiculous how much stuff I bought and never wore.  I know I can do better, of course it was wonderful for the goodwill but I will be watching my shopping habit a little closer this year.  So today’s outfit is a mix of old and new, well only my shoes are new.  I have had this jacket in my closet for more than 6 months and I finally took the time to style it.  I really need to work on remixing my clothes more.</div

This outfit is styled perfectly. Apparently, you SHOULD shop your closet more because you have some awesome pieces there. Congrats are definitely in order for your pending graduation. Especially in lieu of the challenges you've experienced while working on your education. Stay the course, bombshell!

  3. So so so proud of you for not giving up on yourself and being your cheerleader!  I have been through two "divorces" (but no marriages, weird right?) and the second one was absolutely horrible.  And, of course, I work in family law, so I see bad divorces all the time.  You are right, you have to be there for yourself.  You can do it!  You are very inspirational.  Can't wait to "see" you graduate!

Shopping your closet is an amazing way to appreciate your clothes.  As I have been on my shopping ban, I have been doing A LOT more of this.  It is a lot of fun actually.  I love your new pumps and that jacket is great!

  4. Note to self – pair my army jacket with my black pencil skirt.  If I can look half as good as you it will be a success!  Love this!

  5. Great Post friend!!! That's right! Stay focus on your goals and everything will work out. Proud of you and can't wait til graduation. Ready to celebrate with you 🙂 By the way you look cute! I love the Green Jacket 🙂

  7. Happy New Year!  LOL! That's how it always is with getting sick.  The moment you acknowledge that you haven't been sick it's like your body says "Oh yeah! We haven't been sick have we?" turn around and you're sick.  LOL!

I did my closet clean out as well and I was glad to get rid of that stuff to make room for whats coming.  I decided to focus on spring itemsf from here on out.

Sorry to here about the things you lost "in the fire" but I'm sure you're looking forward to a great year of personal accomplishment! Wishing you all the best for 2012! Good Luck and many blessings on everything!

  8. Thank you so much Frannie!!!!! After that closet purge I need to be on a shopping ban too.  I really should have just sold it all but I am too lazy.

  9. Congratulations on your graduation. I know what you mean about fighting through barriers to get there.  I just got my B.S in May 2011 after so much!!!!

  11. Thank you so much, I swear I wish all of my followers could come to my party, lol.  I surely have shared a lot of my frustration with you guys.

  12. Looking fab as always! I really love the jacket! You know with the bragging thing its so funny my bestie had been having car trouble off and on and I had been giving her rides.

So  I bragged to somebody that I never have car trouble, poor her! Chile, it's like my car heard that and said "say what… oh okay"  It's poor me now! LOL!

Congrats on your accomplishments!! Proud of you! 🙂
