1. What technology do you use in blogging? (computer, camera, video camera, tripod, etc…)
I am currently using a Sony Cyber-Shot W230 point and shoot, I use the self-timer to take my pics. I also use a tripod that is borrowed from my co-worker.

2. What computer and online technology do you use? (blogging system, photo storage, photo editing tools, etc..)
I use blogger for hosting but I am thinking about migrating over to WordPress…we’ll see how that goes. I currently don’t use online photo storage…I probably should huh? lol. When I first started blogging I would use my camera to edit photo’s. Let’s just say that didn’t really go to well. I found out about Photoscape, a free photo editing software and I have been using it successfully ever since. I recently found out about Picnik which is free as well. Also, I just added Disqus for commenting which I love!

3. What is your process for taking pictures?
All I can do is shake my head at this question. My process has evolved so much since I started blogging back in July 2010. I started out taking pics in my living room but the lighting was way off…to me anyway. I decided to start taking my photos on my balcony, which is perfect! I keep my tripod setup so I don’t have to re-adjust it daily. Having a tripod setup in my living room is definitely makes for interesting conversation when visitors come over, lol.

4. When it comes to backdrops for your photos what do you consider? Do you scout locations or shoot the same spot daily?
I take my pics on my balcony, same spot everyday unless the weather is bad. I really don’t feel comfortable pulling out my tripod and camera for an impromptu photo shoot in random places. I did recently find a new location that I could use from time to time without any on lookers.

5. If you could splurge and get one new piece of equipment what would you be buying?
I have had my eye on the Canon EOS Digital Rebel T1i 15.1 Megapixel DSLR. I have also heard good things about the Sony NEX-3, 14.2 Megapixel. The DSLR would be my first choice, mind as well since I am splurging, right?

  1. I’m with you – setting up a tripod in public isn’t something I’m dying to do! I would be so uncomfortable!

I think all of us with a point and shoot camera just dies to have a DSLR. I know as soon as I splurge and get one, I will have no clue how to work it. LOL!!

    • I have heard alot of bloggers saying they have taken classes! I know I would need one, lol. I only really learned how to use the point and shoot once I started blogging.

  3. LOL my photo process changed a ton from the beginning as well. When I first started I thought all that mattered was what I was wearing, but so much more goes into blogging than just that. – Katy

    • I don’t realize how much until I actually did this post, lol. I guess it has become second nature now.
